From a Barstool in Chicago

In 1979, I was a young photographer in Chicago and an obsessive fan of the blues. I started photographing musicians to have keepsakes from the shows I attended, but more than that, Wanted to capture the feeling that I was witnessing on stage. After years on barstools watching and getting to know some of these legends, I've come to realize that my aim in photographing them was never just about documenting a memory or even a moment; it was to honor their personalities, their histories, and the intangible magic of this music.
